News Deeply – the company that’s been called “the future of news” – is hiring Managing Editors for three new platforms: Refugees Deeply, Myanmar Deeply, and Human Trafficking Deeply.

Our Managing Editors are the linchpins of our organization. They lead their platform’s editorial direction and operations, ensuring they meet News Deeply’s goal of giving users complete understanding of complex issues. They lead their platform’s day-to-day operations with an operating philosophy that values excellence, a can-do attitude, and News Deeply’s core values. They write, edit, commission, and manage their platform’s contributors.

The Managing Editors also lead the development and management of communities of experts who are both users and contributors to their platforms and events, and assist with the development and delivery of events and white label and educational products. Since we’re a start-up, the Managing Editors contribute to an open sharing of ideas as we seek to continuously improve our products and ourselves.

Candidates should have substantial expertise in and passion for these issues. They should have at least five years of experience as a journalist, researcher, or editor with a daily news outlet, think-tank, or research institution. They should display proven or potential management skills, such as an ability to delegate and work well with teams.
